YPS Psychology is focused on providing high quality, accessible, and time-effective psychological support. We are experienced in delivering therapy to adults, adolescents and children. Our sessions can be arranged as near to the individual’s home or workplace as necessary, or at clinics in the Staffordshire or South Cheshire area, including Holmes Chapel, Sandbach, Northwich, and Congleton.
Our private therapy services draw upon the latest evidence base to enable us to provide the most effective form of therapy possible. At YPS we use an eclectic approach, tailoring our therapeutic interventions to meet each individual’s specific needs. As such we may adopt a range of therapies in order to create a bespoke treatment plan that perfectly meets the needs of the individual. This may include:
Sessions are an hour long following a separate assessment of emotional need. An average of between six and 10 therapeutic sessions are usually sufficient in eliciting positive change. Psychometrics measuring severity of need are administered several times over the full course of therapy, which help to monitor the effectiveness of the therapeutic approach and identify any movement/reduction in emotional distress. It is important for individuals to practise strategies learned, outside of sessions; and these are often given as pieces of homework. Whilst Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is the primary approach used; our psychologists draw on techniques from other evidence-based models, including, Person-Centred; Human Givens and Mindfulness, in order to build rapport with clients and meet their needs.
